Most questions regarding our events are posted on our event page
Q. How can I get involved with KIT?
Our website has information about our programs, events and volunteer opportunities. Please contact us if you have additional questions.
Q. How do I become a volunteer?
Like music to our ears! Volunteers are the backbone of any organization such as ours so thanks for thinking of helping out! Contact us (link to volunteer form) with an idea of what area you would like to volunteer in such as working (teaching nutrition tips, activity, etc.) with at-risk kids, kids in general or families, Events – course help, setup, refreshments, etc., Grant writing, Website maintenance, Sponsorships, Marketing, Photography/Video, Media… Let us know if you have a special talent or will to help us in one of these areas, dates/times you can help and we will put you to work!
Q. How can my company sponsor an event?
Thanks for the consideration! Please contact us for a sponsor information packet.
Q. In most events, why do the oldest kids go first and the youngest last?
Safety is our most important factor in making decisions such as this. Consider that we would like the oldest, faster cyclists off the road before the younger, slower ones are on. If we started the youngest first then the slowest of the young group will still be on the road with the faster of the older group. We understand that it is difficult for the young ones to wait but safety first.
Q. Do you use chip timing?
No. We use Time Machines and a software program to sort the data. After many years considering using the chips and producing many races with and without them, we felt the time machines to be just as accurate for our purposes without the extra maintenance/collection and cost.
Q. When does your event calendar get posted?
Usually by January. If you would like to be notified when it’s up make sure you are on our email list.
